Part Three: RIAT Exotica

RIAT's static display reflects far more than just the major themes. The large static area contained a number of aircraft with some real gems. Particular highlights in 2004 were the debut of the Estonian Border Guard L-410UVP, the US Navy E-6B Mercury as well as rare outings for a US Army AH-64D Longbow Apache. Headlining the RAF participation was Eurofighter Typhoon T1 from No 17(R) Squadron based at Warton. The show also attracts a fair number of charter flights and visitors over the week which are reflected here.
