Blame it on the Weather Man!!!

Thanks to the wonders of digital technology, Flightline UK brings you (or should that be intends !!! - it's only the first day!!)) daily illustrated highlights from the UK's biggest airshow of 2003. We will issue an edition for Wednesday, Thursday, and maybe Friday if we can secure access  to our servers!

Well, what a week! First we cooked in 37C and now we get drenched! Still, today has been outstanding arrivals wise with pretty much all the star items appearing. The weather has affected things and we're not sure if the 100 Years of Flight theme has been completely finished as many of the historic types have been weathered in around the country. Some types will arrive tomorrow around the flying display for the Schools and Air Cadets. Highlights today have been the arrivals of the Mirage IVP, Mirage IIIRS, Rafale Ms, Typhoon, DC-2, and more Tornados than have appeared at any other show. Most of the German examples are in special schemes. Certainly, RIAT's intention of bringing in more specially painted aircraft has worked very well with even an MB339 in a striking red paint scheme. Instead of providing a run down of arrivals, I have included the weekends flying programme as I'm sure that will be more useful to you. The good news is that the A-10A display is quite good once he gets going and that the programme says we have a pairs routine from the EF-18A Hornets!
